Noosa Gymnastics Wins Major Government Grant

grant recipientsNoosa Gymnastics wins major government grant

From the President

Great news!  I have received a letter from the Minister for Sport which reads, in part, as follows:

"I refer to Noosa Gymnastics Club Inc's application for funding under the Get Playing Plus program to extend the existing indoor facility at Bicentnnial Hall...I am pleased to advise you I have approved funding of $512, 567 (GST exclusive) for this project...."

This grant, which we will match with Club savings, will enable a doubling of the present training space with installation of more equipment and will allow us to extend our training programs.

In the next few months architectural and engineering plans will be drawn up and tenders for construction called.  We expect construction to begin early next year with completion by the end of June 2017.

The grant would not have been received without our rapid growth in Club membership from 300 at the beginning of 2011 to 600 today.  This growth has come about because of your support for the classes we offer and by word of mouth, you word of mouth.  Please continue to spread the word.  We are excited about the developments ahead and look forward to implementing some new programs.
